Previous Owner Munroe, newspaperman and sometime president of the Society of Detroit Magicians, in the 1940s published a limited-circulation (and thus now sought-after) monthly newsletter dubbed "Al Munroe's Magical Miscellany." Board corners of this hardcover book rubbed a bit. 324 pp. including the two-page "Editorial Addendum," followed by 4 pp. publisher's ads including for eight "Books by Houdini." Reduced from $180.

Rarely available this copy is signed and inscribed on the first fly leaf by Oscar S Teale to William E. Locke, Aug 4 1920. Teale has also handwritten "Serial No. 83". The chapters in this book pertain to bizarre magic (including séance work). All items are concerned with visual, physical manifestations. Publisher's original card wrapped covers in brick red cloth, gilt title and lettering to spine, gilt lettering and gilt design to front [drawn by the author which represents Hermes as the Patron God of the Arts and Crafts Mysterious - as stated in the book]. All page edges gilt, wine colored end papers. Approx. 8.25 x 5.25 in. Contains 492 pages plus index including 4 pages of magic related ads and ad advertising Teale's other book "OPEN SESAME." Contains 24 illustrations of magic tricks with instructions and other instructions in text only. The book was written in 1912, revised and amended when finally published in 1920.
