Soft cover. Etat : Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. No date given but a 1950s catalogue. 224 pages. Spirally bound, light brown front card cover (not soiled, some creases), missing rear cover. Pages are clean and bright with no markings. No inscriptions. Overall good to very good condition. Catalogue of guns, rifles, pistols and sundries. Bland sold hammer guns, boxlocks and sidelocks and ran a successful business for decades, based in Birmingham's Steelhouse Lane. The earliest record of the firm dates from 1862. Bland opened a London shop, which he called The House of Bland. Production always focussed on robust, rather plain, practical guns for explorers, expeditions, fore-shore hunters and colonialists. Wild fowling guns were a speciality.
