Fourth edition and first printing. In good plus bright brown bevelled-edged cloth boards, gilt titles to back strip, 'Capio Lumen', Latin for capture light, on front with hand holding flaming flare. The covers are square, a little wobbly from slight damage to hinge, corners and spine ends frayed. Clean end papers. Small red and white bookseller's sticker from Bone & Son, London on rear paste down. Tanned cut edges. The text block is tightly bound except for section of pages 195 - 214 which is loose. The pages are not tanned, light foxing to prelims; overall very good and excellent for age. Frontispiece of The Delphic Sibyl from The Sistine Chapel. Large publisher's catalogue at rear.
