Still a readable copy of this 100-year-old diet book that emphasizes avoiding sugar, starch, and oils among other things. It goes in the direction of popular, modern-day low-carb diets. 104 pages with book ads at the back of the book. A lengthy Preface by Thompson, in which he writes rather harshly of corpulence in men and women, is followed by the Mahdah menus, ordered by season.
