Large 16mo, pp. 32, printed in double columns, original pictorial wrappers, re-sewn with binder's thread into a plain paper outer wrapper (reversible). First edition. Frank Merriwell, an idealized American lad, hero of countless dime novels written under a house pseudonym, begins his career at Yale and faces hazing and hijinks, fights bullies, forms friendships and prepares for the revenge of Bruce Browning, King of the Sophomores. Rear cover advertises "Tip Top Library" titles through number 41. Apparently the first printing of this title. Dime novel bookseller Charles Bragin's small address stamps on page 31 and 32. The paper is somewhat tanned but supple, a very good or better copy. (#142206).
