Pages and plates are lightly tanned and foxed throughout, heavier to endpapers. Stained marking along front hinge. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Frontispiece is partially detached. Binding is slightly shaky. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Moderate tanning to spine and edges.

Heavy tanning and water damage to text block edges. Cracks to guttering throughout, with exposed netting. Frontispiece and fep are detached but still present. Cracking to front hinge. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Light bumping to corners and heavy crushing to spine ends. Book has noticeable forward lean. Boards are slightly bowed.

Panels and spine has light edgewear with tears and creasing. Slight tanning to panels and spine.

VERY GOOD / NO DJ. x, 220 pp. Pages very lightly toned but otherwise completely clean, unmarked, undamaged; 32 full color plates of watercolor images of Cambridge are lovely, like-new condition. Also includes a "sketch plan" (b/w drawing) of the city. Endpapers are lightly toned; front hinge is beginning to crack at the bottom, but binding is tight and solid; book appears hardly used. Boards covered with blue embossed buckram; black titling on front cover, bright gilt titling on spine. Corners very lightly bumped except for top right of cover, which has small crease just at corner. Edges, top/tail of spine show no shelfwear. Overall in remarkable condition for a book this old; lovely item.
