Green Limp Hardback. Etat : Very Good Plus. 'Temple' Edition - First Thus. 1902. First edition thus. xxxv, 256pp., a tissue-guarded frontispiece and a map. Top edge gilt. The 'Temple' Bible was issued in the same format as the publisher's 'Temple Classics' series, which ran from 1896 to 1955, and predated Dent?s Everyman?s Library by a decade. In 31 volumes, it presents the Authorised Version of the Bible as literature, and each volume is edited by a well-known Biblical Scholar and contains an introduction. This volume contains The Book of Jeremiah and Lamentations. The book is bound in the original limp green cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and a blind stamped emblem on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear on the boards and light bumping to the corners and spine ends. The contents are tight and clean with browing to the free endpapers and a small name label on the front fixed endpaper. The original marker ribbon is present but faded and frayed at the end.
