This typical turn of the century periodical published well researched articles on the history of the periodical press (persons and publications) and the actual situation of the press in different countries, cities and regions. It was a publication of the ''Cercle Presso-Philatélique d'Anvers et des principaux Pressophiles de Belgique'' It was animated by J.B.Vervliet who himself had an enormous library and collection of specimen newpapers and journals. This Antwerp initiative ran parallel with a Brussels project called ''Institut International de Bibliographie''. (Mundaneum). One of their aims was to form a collection with specimen of issues of all periodicals in every language. In their typical 19th century frame of mind this collection would certainly greatly advance science and society. A complete set has become extremely rare.
