This is a hardcover book with 180 pages including some photos and a fold-out of thoroughbred bloodlines. The binding is strong with all pages firmly attached. The pages are clean with no soiling, writing, or tears. The copyright and title page show 1946 as the only date. The dust jacket is 98% intact with a one inch chip on the top of the spine and some light chipping along the top edge of the back. There are two, 2 inch closed tears on the top of the front and a one inch closed tear on the top of the back. I have placed the DJ in a fresh mylar jacket. We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!.

Hewitt discusses some current breeding theories and leading European stud farms. His text seems to be based on a talk. Wall discusses inbreeding and outcrossing, using a few specific examples of Virginia sires and dams. Saegmuller gives a good summary of Virginia breeding from its beginnings to 1950. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate. (Not in Wells).

Wall published this large pamphlet in order "to cover prominent horses developed in 1946 and to bring Thoroughbred Bloodlines up to date," and to correct errors in that book. "It is suggested that this pamphlet be pasted in the front of your copy of Thoroughbred Bloodlines." With this supplement, he writes, "the antecedents of nearly all great horses embracing the past fifty years are now charted in Thoroughbred Bloodlines." Good (covers dogeared and chipped, due to storage; back cover faded).
