Comprised largely of country boys of limited education and very little military experience, this regiment participated in 22 battle and major engagements. It mostly fought in the Western Theatre of the American Civil War and participated in the battles of Pea Ridge, Chickamauga, Franklin, Bentonville, Chickamauga, Nashville and Oak Hills among others. Includes roll.
