Hardcover. Etat : New. Etat de la jaquette : As New. Eric Treacy (Photographs) (illustrateur). Reprint. This copy is in new, unmarked condition bound in burgundy cloth covered boards with bright gilt titling to the spine. This copy is bright, tight, white and square. There is an attractive bookplate to the f.e.p. The unclipped dust wrapper is lightly sunned to the spine but still in as new condition. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased postal rates will be quoted, where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. An impressive produced album. There are chapters on the Western and Southern but, as expected with this photographer, scenes from the North of England and Scotland predominate. Eric Treacy, MBE (2 June 1907 ? 13 May 1978) was an English railway photographer and Anglican bishop of Wakefield. He took up railway photography, being inspired by visiting Liverpool Lime Street and getting to know his parishioners who worked on the railway. His photographic work appeared in various magazines during the 1930s. In 1946 Treacy published his first book which contained images of L.M.S. locomotives. The Treacy Collection of 12,000 photographs forms part of the National Railway Museum's archive of over 1.4 million images. Ref SSS 1.
