Collier c. 1900 [undated] as an 8 volume set, (I have several of the remaining volumes in my collection for sale). The green cloth covers look nice with gold embossed artwork and titles. Edges of text block are dyed red with black speckles. Frontipiece and tissue are intact. Good condition. The covers show edge wear particularly to the corners which are worn to the boards. The hinges are beginning to crack, but the pages are all intact. The interior pages are unmarked. There is a small abrasion to the front flyleaf. Some age spotting to blank endpapers, but text pages are bright and clean and free of foxing. An attractive set. Text in English. Gilt somewhat faded to spine and most volumes have heavier wear to cloth at bottom edge with some boards exposed, slight fraying. All have prev owner's name on ffep. Vol 1 has note as to purchase otherwise unmarked text, nicely illustrated. Front hinges are weak on most. Vol 4 front hinge is fully exposed and title page is laid in but otherwise seems fairly tight. Other volumes are tight and square. Additional shipping fees apply. Overall nice set.

Condition: the endcap at the bottom of the Volume I spine has a very short tear and some scuffing; top of spine, hinges & edges a bit rubbed. Top of Volume II spine rubbed with slight loss of leather; bottom of spine rubbed; else volumes are pretty much near fine.
