Hardcover. Oatmeal cloth/boards with decorative black lettering. No dj.163 pp. with half-tone plates and bw line drawings. Written in 15 chapters, from The Clay and its Care, through Hand-Building, Throwing, and Decoration, to Tiles, Mosaics, Casting, Finishing, Drying, Glazing, and with information on kilns and a summary for the workshop. An excellent, classic reference for the potter. Good- clean text but with 2 detached/present pages, fraying spine, soiling to covers, age toning to page margins. Art school ex-lib. with usual marks, including blind stamps to some page edges.
