Introduction +238pp. FINE in maroon quarter leather with matching cloth, gilt titles and decorations, all edges gilt. Satin bookmark bound in. Bookplate on endpaper showing book number in series. Privately Printed for members of the Notable Trials Library. The New York Weekly Journal appears, from the excerpts reproduced in Appendix A of this edition, to have been a somewhat amateurish political magazine comprised of a selection of essays, lampoons and other provocative items directed primarily against the governor of New York. The offended officials set out to silence the publication. They set a criminal prosecution against the printer, Zenger. Despite all the odds and the courts being stacked against him, Zenger won. Facsimile of the original edition published by Belknap Press of Harvard University, 1963. This edition contains a new Introduction by Alan M. Dershowitz. A very attractive edition.
