Edition originale
Hard Cover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : No Dust Jacket. Illustrated by A. Radclyffe Dugmore (illustrateur). Reprint. First Edition. Publisher's full green cloth, gilt lettering and black decoration on spine, elaborate gilt lettering and green and black decoration on cover, t.e.g., fore-edge deckle. Photographically illustrated in B&W by A. Radclyffe Dugmore. "A classic dog story set in Cumbria, the mountainous northwest district of England, about a young boy coming of age in the midst of conflict between two shepherding households: his own, with an abusive father and his father's sheep herding dog (Bob, who has a persuasive personality) vs. that of a neighbor whose dog (Red Wull) relies more on brute force. A complicating factor is the killing of sheep in the district by an unknown dog, with suspicion falling on both Bob and Red Wull. It's not inconceivable that some of the weird canine atmosphere of this tale might have seeped into Doyle's HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES (1902). Most of the dialogue is in Cumbrian dialect." - Robert Eldridge. . Spine and covers mildly rubbed, corners lightly bumped, unmarked, square, and clean. VERY GOOD. . Photographs. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. 356 pp.
