Marbled paper half-bound in burgundy leather with raised bands (5 excluding the top and bottom edge) and gilt lettering and decoration on the spine. Some rubbing to the paper surface and edges as well as the board and spine edges. Modest condition grade because the spine covering is now detached from the rest of the book. Marbled page edges. Marbled end papers. Owner stamp on the recto of an otherwise blank front end paper. Additional small purple edge stains on some of the front matters including the portrait frontispiece and covering tissue. The contents (xliii + 318 pp.) otherwise appear clean, complete and securely bound with very light age tanning. NOT an ex-library copy.
