Hardcover. Etat : VG. First edition thus. c.250pp per volume, with many guarded plates. Contents bright and fresh, with a little toning to the margins of the plates; the original dark endpapers are intact, the boards firm. All edges gilt, bright. c.22.5x15.5cms, in the original bindings of red cloth over bevelled boards, decorated and titled in gilt. The boards are bright, the spines slightly faded and marked, heads fraying, with short splits to a few joints, bottom edges puckered and scuffed. A largely attractive and completely usable set with some wear to the spines. [EXTRA Heavy Item].
