Eginton (Birmingham 1807) 156x87mm roan with black spine label gilt (front cover re-attached/tips very worn) vi+106pp, including "Epilogue to the Second Edition" at p87. Ownership inscription "Septimus Wray Chirurgus Fleet Street, London" on front end-paper, light paper browning and minor off-setting from plates to text. *Beautifully engraved plates with satirical poems about Bath society. Anstey was an English poet who also wrote in Latin. The New Bath Guide brought him to fame and began an easy satirical fashion that was influential throughout the 2nd half of the 18th century (Wikipedia). 1 volume. Hardcover.
