Demonstrators were massacred, priests were detained, and his close friend was murdered. Despite Romero's outspokenness, repression & violence worsened. Then he was assassinated. This is the first English translation of his diary, covering the two years from March, 1978 until 4 days before his murder. It reveals his most deeply held views.
