The text is illustrated with black-and-white cartoons by Armstrong; who also drew the cartoon for the front panel. Black and red coloured titles to the front panel. The title says it all, a series of political / military history is about the buildup to World War II, and, the early parts of the war, as seen by The Argus' cartoonist Armstrong. Creasing of the book corners with rubbing of the book edges and panels. The lower quarter inch of the back strip is missing and there are numerous horizontal tears the full length of the back strip. Sunning of the book panels with handling marks and foxing also present. Light age toning of the text book edges and pages. Some foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book.
