Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Here is another extremely rare copy of ASIAN JUNGLE & AFRICAN BUSH by Col. Charles Askins. During Askins' hunting expeditions to South-east Asia, his guide was Nguyen-Van-Chi, and the book opens with a chapter on "Ngo Van Chi- Hunter's Hunter". Askins thought his aforementioned guide "kills more game each year than any other hunter during a lifetime" The book features several photographs of Ngo Van Chi hunting in southeast Asia with Askins. The book is inscribed thus on the entire front end page: "To, Nguyen Van Chi: With kindest regards and all best wishes for good hunting. Sincerely, Colonel Charles Askins, San Antonio, Texas, USA. 10 October 1960". Attracted by the fame brought out by Askins, Nguyen Van Chi was sought after by many hunters around the world, and one such hunter from New York saw this book in Van-Chi's possession and made him an offer to purchase the book several years ago. I obtained this copy directly from that hunter in New York a few years ago. Profusely illustrated with photographs. Large format, beige cloth with title printed in gold, 258 pages.light foxing on edges, general wear otherwise a very nice and uncommon Association copy. Extra postage required. Inscribed by Author(s).
