CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The author, himself a guide, hunter and game warden, writes what he knows in the mountains where he lived; he being a resident of Essex, Montana. This young adult adventure book tells the story of a young, newcomer tagging on with the experienced mountain guide and forest ranger, and by the end of the summer, he's offered his own position as a Government Hunter. For those not familiar with Montana, the little town Essex, where the author lived, is a wide spot on Hwy-2 and with an old railway station; right on the southern edge of Glacier NP. This old, beautiful lodge, The Isaac Walton Inn, is a great spot for an hour, day, or week's visit. Especially in the winter for skiing and snowshoeing.
