A history of Napoleon Bonaparte's captivity on St. Helena, examining both the British perspective as well as that of the camp of Napoleon. Aubry draws on primary documents, including the papers of Hudson Lowe and other records in an attempt to present an unbiased look at the events surrounding the death in exile of Napoleon and the subsequent fallout. GOOD+ condition. General fading to the cloth, with darkening along the spine. Minor scuffing and soiling. Light scuffing along the extremities. Bookplate of Willard Hallam Bonner on the inside front cover. Small red lines in the margins of two pages of the preface. Text otherwise clean and solid.

Jacket is chipping at edges and shows a few rub and soil marks, not price-clipped. Boards are still sharp with a few stray spots around edges, slightly bumped corners. Interior is clean, unmarked, toned at edges. Spine is tight.
