Embossed designs and borders on front and back covers. Bright gilt ornaments and lettering on the brown cloth spine. There are signs of slight rubbing to the brown cloth binding but otherwise, overall, the book is in very good condition.

Fisheries include: Whaling, Seal, Cod, Herring, Mackerel, Pearl, Coral, etc. Hunting includes: Cattle, Buffalo, Bear, Fur Trade, and Bird Catching. Commerce and Navigation includes: Voyage and Discoveries of Columbus, Magellan, Sir Francis Drake, English and Dutch towards the North Pole, commerce of the North American coast, commerce by caravans. 335 pp. plus illustrations, minor wear to spine top/bottom otherwise in very good condition and the inside is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION AND IS COMPLETE, CLEAN, AND TIGHT. Interesting section on mining.NOTE: All of this just before the gold strike of 1849!!.

Foxing throughout, but not so much that it obliterates the text. A sturdy, readable copy.

Cover has some edge wear, moreso on the head of the spine strip, has light rub marks; name stamp on front flyleaf; name sticker on rear endpaper, fron inner hinge starting to crack; few light stains. The covers are scuffed and worn with a damp stain on the rear. The spine is leather and is worn.
