First edition. Wonderful association copy of this instructional book from the dominant women's basketball coach at Delta State University from 1973-1979, Margaret Wade (1912-1995). Wade played for the Lady Statesmen from 1930-32 and then won three straight national championships from 1975-77 as a coach at the school. During that span, the team had an improbable 51 game winning streak. Wade was inducted into the Naismith hall of Fame in 1985. This copy signed to the important University of Tennessee men's basketball coach (1962-77), Ray Mears. Mears ranks in the top 15 all-time in terms of winning percentage with a .747 mark in the NCAA. A fantastic grouping from the historic program at Delta State. 4to, 177pp. Photographs, diagrams. Signed and inscribed by Wade to Coach Ray Mears on the title page. Some toning and foxing to illustrated wrappers else clean and nearly fine. Program is 32pp in stapled wrappers. Photos, advertisements throughout. Some wear at staples else nicely preserved. Lady Statesmen bumper sticker laid in.

Interesting collection of materials from John Prudhoe (1932-2019), the 6'9" All American center from Louisville, 1951-1955, and later the NIBL. Includes a photograph and article from his first season with the Peoria cats, a photograph and article from his final season at Louisville, and most importantly, a certificate signed by the hall of fame coach from Western Kentucky State, Edgar A. Diddle (1895-1970), who coached the Kentucky side in the 2nd annual Kentucky-Indiana All-Star game. Diddle is known as an early pioneer of the fast break offense, the first coach to coach 1000 games at one school, having just 5 losing seasons in his 42 years at WKU, and recruiting the first African American basketball players, Clem Haskins and Dwight Smith in the early 60's. His signature is very uncommon. Two newspaper clippings, one laminated and one backed; two original photographs, 10x8" and 7x5"; and an 11x14" Kentucky State Fair All-Star Collegiate Basketball Game certificate signed by E.A. Diddle. Generally near fine, the photos showing a bit of light rippling at edges and soiling to versos.
