8vo. pp 48. First edition. Illustrated dust jacket. Publisher's navy boards lettered in silver at spine. With a non-authorial gift inscription at first endpaper to "David" (Epps, musician). Very good, clean and bright throughout, with some offsetting at first endpaper and two small faded spots at spine. In good/fair dust jacket, with a 3cm x 1cm loss at foot of spine and a 1cm closed tear at head of spine. There are also two other less prominant closed tears, one at top edge of front cover, and another at the bottom corner of front board.

Dark blue coloured boards with silver coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic / illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Quoting from the front fold over panel blurb " . Various systems have been evolved over the years for recording the movements of the dance. The most recent of these is one invented by Joan Benesh, a member of the Sadler's Wells Ballet, and her husband Rudolf Benesh. Their system of notation is visual, and is based on what the I actually sees, a draughtsman's shorthand, as it were. The positions and movement written down on musical starves below the music by means of a readily understood symbols. Rubbing of the book edges with a little age toning of the text block edges and pages. Offset tanning to the end pages and previous owners name has been written alongside the front hinge. A little Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. Creasing, rubbing and some small tears to the top dustwrapper edge and a small tear to the lower edge of the rear panel. Sunning of the back strip with rubs and marks to the panels. A little tanning to the verso of the dustwrapper. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
