Paper cover has mild edge wear with light rubbing and creasing. Some light marking and sunning.

The story follows not only the histories of the three girls, their marriages, happinesses and sorrows, but also the history of the development of Shanghai and the English settlements in China at the zenith of Britain's imperialism.
