ROY, Blue Grass. BLUE GRASS ROY'S COLLECTION OF MOUNTAIN AND HOME SONGS. Chicago, Ill.: M.M. Cole Publishing Co., [circa 1936]. Quarto: spiral bound (plastic) printed tan wraps; 65 pages. First Edition. Blue Grass Roy was born in Kentucky around 1901 and, as a child, he learned to sing the old mountain ballads and folk songs of the region. With these homespun folk songs, he sang his way into the hearts of thousands of fans using a new contraption, called a radio. Signed and inscribed by Roy at the bottom of his biography inside the front cover: "Yours truly, Blue Grass Roy." His signature is uncommon. Very Good (bit of soil covers; contents clean & tight; plastic spiral binding is uncracked). $150.00.
