Small spots of wear at corners, 1/4" closed tear at rear base corner of spine. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Clean gray endpapers - no names, writing or bookplates. Color frontispiece illustration, with 5 additional full-page color illustrations by Charles M. Sheldon. A few pages have a little foxing. Blue top-stained upper page edges. 356 pages + publisher's advertising at rear of book.
