The jacket is now protected with a removable Mylar cover. The hardcover book is in good minus condition free from rips, tears, writing. Page 231 has been dog eared, there is some light soiling on the bottom page edges, and some light edge toning on the end pages. The boards are in good minus condition with minimal edge wear and a corner bump on the front. The binding is tight and square.

Previous owners imprint on title page. Moderate foxing to interior pages. 357 pages. Glossy frontis portrait of John Morgan, which is identical to the dust jacket portrait. Morgan, a Kentuckian, served as a Confederate General and was known as an early practioner of guerilla warfare. This book definitely from the point of view of the South. The author is related to the author's uncles who rode with Morgan. The dust jacket has tape residue on reverse, at head and heel of spine and light soiling to back panel. Front flap has been price clipped. A very nice copy of this scarce title.
