Ca. 20,5 cm x ca. 13 cm, ca. 30 cm stark, ca. 5,6 kg schwer. Allseits dunkler Farbschnitt. Halbledereinbände der Zeit mit goldgeprägten Rückentiteln. In Lateinisch. - Als Autoren gelten J. A. Schultes und J. J. Roemer für Bd. 1 - 4, J. A. Schultes für Bd. 5 und 6 (nach Römers Tod) sowie J. A. Schultes gemeinsam mit seinem Sohn Julius Hermann für Bd. 7. - Stafleu and Cowan, TL-2, 9.408; hier ausführliche Angaben zu den verschiedenen Ausgaben von Linnes Systema naturae bzw. dessen botanischem Teil Systema vegetabilium. Die hier vorliegende Ausgabe kann als 16. Ausgabe gelten (nach der 15. Ausgabe von J. A. Murray und vor der eigentlich 17. Ausgabe von K. P. J. Sprengel). Einige Beiträge dieser Ausgabe stammen von weiteren Autoren, z. B. von K. P. J. Sprengel und A. W. Roth. Nach Stafleu and Cowan wurde ab Band 3 auch Material von Willdenow, Humboldt und Bonpland verwendet. - Eine 3-bändige, ebenfalls von Roemer und Schultes bearbeitete Ausgabe der `Mantissa` (Stuttgart, J. G. Cotta, 1822 - 1827) wird häufig als Bestandteil der hier vorliegenden Ausgabe des `Systema Vegetabilium` angesehen; diese Ausgabe der `Mantissa` können wir zurzeit ebenfalls anbieten. Etwas berieben und bestoßen. ExLibris (Bibliothéque de L`Herbier Boissier) und Dublettenvermerk auf den Spiegeln, sonst keine Einträge. Ganz überwiegend nahezu nicht gebräunt, nur sehr selten gering fleckig. Innenglenke teilweise aufgeplatzt, Bindung dennoch gut und fest. Zustand durchaus gut.
