Etat : Very good. CHARLIE CHAPLIN WON AN OSCAR IN 1973 FOR THIS MUSIC HE COMPOSED IN 1952 FOR HIS MOVIE "LIMELIGHT" - Quarto, 12 inches high by 9 inches wide. Pictorial self-wraps. 4 pages, including the covers with the music and lyrics to "Eternally" the song from Charlie Chaplin's Limelight. A couple of annotations penned in red & blue grease pencil inside would suggest that this was a working copy for an early performance of the music. The first annotation, penned at the top left of the first page, states: "Cue: 'Life'Music'", followed by an arrow pointing to the first line of lyrics. The second annotation, penned at bottom right of the second page, states: "'F' Belltone for Enjoy Yourself". An additional note is boldly penciled in at bottom right: "BOWS Show Biz". In beautiful condition. This is the original sheet music for the song, dating from 1953. Limelight was originally released in 1952. However it did not play in Los Angeles until 20 years later, at which time it became elegible for an Academy Award. Chaplin won an Oscar in 1973 for his music for the film.
