One of 5000 numbered copies signed by "Cheerio" on the limitation page (this being # 4409). 366 pp. plus index by author. Very good; issued without dust jacket. Compilation of short pieces of prose and poetry for every day of the year. "Cheerio", a radio personality from 1927 to 1940, whose daily programs, heard across the country on numerous stations, broadcast pieces of prose, poetry, music and positive messages "calculated to start the day in a happy frame of mind". The identity of Cheerio was unkown to the public though according to a New York Times article of June 3, 1928, he may have been Charles Field, a New York businessman and classmate of Herbert Hoover.
