In them we learn how Mr. Beaumont staged the War of Britons and Boers in his own garden, or how he constructed a Jules Verne submarine out on the veranda." A charming story of childhood. Book itself is in Near Fine condition. Better than Very Good over-all. Signed by Author(s).

Light spotting to endpapers, boards browned, spine ends a little bumped and two small splashes to spine itself. Five hand-coloured illustrations, and with monochrome illustrations throughout. First edition, no. 25 of 325 copies published by the author. With a preface by Sacheverell Sitwell to whom, with his brother Osbert, the book is dedicated., Cyril Beaumont was one of the pre-eminent dance historians of the twentieth century. He published this book from his Charing Cross Road bookshop which, from 1910 until his death in 1976, specialised in all things dance. A life of Beaumont, by Kathrine Sorley Walker, was published in 2006.
