Tawney and other previous editors include M. M. Postan, H. J. Habbakuk, Max Hartwell (1960 1968), Christopher Dyer, Nicholas Crafts, John Hatcher, Richard Smith, Jane Humphries, Steve Hindle and Phillipp Schofield.
