Removed. First edition. 4 pp. 8vo. Since 1806 William Tatham had been trying to sell the maps he had made to the government. In this memorial he is asking for "remuneration as may be deemed just," that the maps be evaluated or he be paid by the time spent (23 years) in compiling them. His proposal was revived again in 1817. He committed suicide on Richmond's Capitol Square by stepping in front of the muzzle of one of the cannons firing the sundown salute in honor of Washington. OCLC locates only a single physical copy at the American Antiquarian Society. American Imprints 30367. A very good clean copy, very faint foxing.
