Edition originale
Hard Cover. Etat de la jaquette : Dust Jacket. First Edition. First edition, first issue. Original salmon-pink cloth with black titles to the spine. Selwyn & Blount Spring List for 1936 at the rear of the book (as called for). A VG copy with offsetting to both sets of end-papers, foxing to the early/late pages of the book, the cloth however is clean and the binding square. In the RARE D/W (designed by Youngman Carter) priced 7/6 net to the spine (as called for). The cream portion of the spine is darkened and there is shallow chipping at the head and tail of the spine (not affecting any lettering). The darkening to the spine has affected the pink spine lettering which is just visible. Elsewhere the D/W is creased and rubbed to the extremities. Rare in D/W. "Six stories each by a different author and each with a commentary by ex-Superintendent Cornish of the C.I.D. (Cooper & Pike). Scans invited. Haycraft Queen Cornerstone.

Edition originale
Hard Cover. Etat de la jaquette : Dust Jacket. First Edition. (London: Selwyn & Blount n.d. [1936]). First UK Edition. Publisher's salmon pink cloth with the spine lettered in black. The book is dated by the 32-page Spring Catalogue at the rear. Faint offsetting to both sets of end-papers and light foxing to the first few pages of the book overall a bright and clean near fine copy. In the RARE D/W priced 7/6 net to the spine by Youngman Carter which is two-toned each half showing a different scene: to the left in blue has Scotland Yard; to the right in red has a scene on the Thames Embankment with a policeman. The D/W has a slither of loss at the head and tail of the spine (not affecting any lettering) and has a short 1 cm closed tear and associated crease to the bottom edge of the front panel. Six short stories by leading Detection Club authors each illustrating a perfect murder. Each story is then followed by a superb commentary by Ex-Superintendent Cornish, CID detailing how the seemingly perfect murder could have been solved. A much nicer copy than normally seen of this rare book and a very nice copy indeed. Haycraft Queen Cornerstone. Photographs/scans available upon request.
