Publisher's pale blue paper covers titled in dark blue, stapled twice. Presented in black cloth-covered chemise case with gilt titles to spine. First volume exceptionally crisp and clean, with just a few nicks to covers, and a large loss to final advert leaf. Second volume more heavily rubbed, with some toning, spotting and a few chips and tears to covers, as well as a loss to tail of spine. Very good. Both parts of Adams' weird tale 'The Flying Death,' in which a mysterious beach-murder turns out to have been committed by a rogue dinosaur, together with some later parts of Doyle's 'Etienne Gerard,' two short stories by Jacobs, and a short story by Wells.

Moderate general wear, with rubbing and bumping to covers, and some chips from spines. Christmas number spine more heavily worn, with large losses to head and tail. Rare thus. Very good. All six parts of the co-written 'Sanctuary Club,' concerning a private detection consortium, and all three parts of Doyle's 'The Croxley Master,' in which a poor medical student agrees to take part in a prize fight in order to win the money he needs to complete his studies. Also containing odd chapters of Allen's 'Hilda Wade,' Jacob's 'A Master of Craft,' and Nesbit's 'The Seven Dragons,' as well as an article by the editor on the Southern Cross expedition, and two further short stories by Nesbit.

Clean internally, with moderate wear to cloth, including some wrinkling to spine of volume 15, and a crack to the binding of volume 16, manifesting at p.595. An attractive, practical pair. Very good. A significant collection, including all seven parts of Doyle's 'Round the Fire' stories, and all ten parts of both Meade / Eustace's 'The Brotherhood of the Seven Kings' and Allen's 'Miss Cayley's Adventures' - a pair of detective novels featuring strong female lead-characters. Also including numerous interesting short pieces by other authors, including H.G. Wells.

Some toning and wear to spine; date added by hand in black ink to tail. Very good. An important volume of the Strand Magazine, containing excerpts from Captain Scott's diaries, which later appeared in full in 'Scott's Last Expedition' (1913). Also containing numerous short pieces by various authors, including a Sherlock Holmes short story, and an early contribution from Wodehouse.

Also featuring a selection of short pieces by Jacobs, Mason, Meade, Pemberton, Pain, Nesbit, Maugham, Marsh, and Morrison, and a vision of the tank from Wells more than ten years before it was deployed on the battlefields of France.
