First edition limited to 350 copies, of which this is copy 192. 67pp., a frontispiece and 5 other black and white portraits of Hugh Macdiarmid by Leonard Penrice. This book is a tribute to the Scottish poet and writer Christopher Murray Grieve (1892-1978), best known by his pen name Hugh MacDiarmid. It is a collection of poems written over the previous forty years by various authors and edited with an introduction by Duncan Glen. The book is bound in the original green paper covered boards with a brown leather spine and gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear on the boards and fading along the top and fore edges of the rear board. There are also a few small stains on the rear board. The contents are tight and clean with a few of the signatures showing a thin split down the spine gutter. The corners of the free endpapers have light tape stains, probably where a previous owner had attached a prrotective cover for the book. There is no inscription. SIGNED By the Editor and Artis.
