Interlaced with humorous Bewick type illustrations, many full page. Original green cloth covered bevel edged boards with gilt and black pictorial and gilt lettering on upper cover and spine. Binding worn at extremities and slightly dusty, endpapers repaired with tape. Owners name. Overall a good tight early copy of a gem of a book. 8vo. 216pp + 32pp publishers ads.

Cloth. Etat : Very Good. F. C. Macrae (illustrateur). A scarce copy of The Tribes on My Frontier by Eha, Author of "A Naturalist on the Prowl" and "Behind the Bungalow." Illustrated by F. C. Macrae. Sixth Edition. Edward Hamilton Aitken was a civil servant in India, better known for his humorist writings on natural history in India and as a founding member of the Bombay Natural History Society. He was well known to Anglo-Indians by the pen-name of Eha In a blue cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine and front board. Externally, generally smart, lightly rubbed in places. There is some minor bumping to the top and tail of the spine. Spine is also faded. Internally, generally firmly bound, though front hinge is tender. Pages are generally bright and clean with some scattered light foxing, predominantly to the end papers. There is an ink inscription to the recto of front free end papers Very Good. book.
