Tall 8vo, pp. 28; original printed gray wrappers; near fine. From the library of Kim Merker. Curtis Faville's L Magazine ran to five issues in three installments, one annually from 1972 to 1974. The format for each installment was unique, from oblong to square trim, textured to glossy cover stock, letterpress to offset. Following the cessation of the magazine, Faville's related imprint L Publications (Kensington, California) produced books by Bill Berkson, Faville, Ted Greenwald, and Robert Grenier between 1975 and 1978. In this inaugural issue the contributors included Dave Morice (who has signed the inside back cover), Philip Whalen, James Schuyler, Denis Johnson, Donald Justice, among others.
Side-stapled wrappers. Cover by Hugh Kepets. Trade edition of 400 copies and 26 letter and signed by the poet and artist. This copy signed by poet and artist though, like other signed copies we have encountered, not lettered. Fine and bright with light shelf wear and a few flecks of rust near top and middle staple.
