Manuscrit autographe lettre officielle portugaise sur vélin signée "El Rey" à la manière et selon la coutume des Rois portugais (le monarque signe en tant que Roi portugais : Filipe I de Portugal), datée de Lisbonne, le 18 mai 1582. La lettre est un mandat royal reconnaissant les revendications que Dona Isabel de Castro avait présentées aux gouverneurs du Royaume du Portugal concernant les droits de son fils décédé Dom Fernando de Castello Branco, dont la nomination officielle comme gouverneur d'Ormuz.Le Roi décide de régler ces revendications en accordant le même honneur à l'autre fils de Dona Isabel, Dom Martinho de Castello Branco.Dom Martinho de Castello Branco se voit ainsi confier le gouvernement d'Ormuz pour une période de trois ans, recevant un salaire de 600.000 reis par an, le Roi comptant sur lui pour défendre et garder le lieu mais aussi pour le gérer comme un bastion commercial de l'Empire portugais.Dona Isabel de Castro est également la mère d'un autre descendant de la famille Castello Branco, qui a été le principal soutien des revendications de Philippe II au trône du Portugal, et qui a été connu dans l'histoire sous le nom de Conde do Sabugal ; ce qui explique peut-être la raison pour laquelle le monarque espagnol a voulu absolument accorder un tel honneur et une charge profitable à un membre de cette famille. The letter is a royal warrant recognizing the claims that Dona Isabel de Castro had presented to the governors of the Kingdom of Portugal regarding the rights of her deceased son Dom Fernando de Castello Branco, including the official appointment as governor of Hormuz.The King decided to settle these claims by granting the same honor to the other son of Dona Isabel, Dom Martinho de Castello Branco.Dom Martinho de Castello Branco was thus entrusted with the government of Hormuz for a period of three years, receiving a salary of 600,000 reis per year, the King counting on him to defend and guard the place but also to manage it as a commercial bastion of the Portuguese Empire.Dona Isabel de Castro was also the mother of another descendant of the Castello Branco family, who was the main supporter of Philip II's claims to the Portuguese throne, and who was known in history as the Conde do Sabugal; this may explain why the Spanish monarch was so keen to bestow such an honor and profitable office on a member of this family.
