A near fine or better copy with some darkening to bottom board edges and a faint pink stain to bottom edge. Price sticker to front endpaper, else clean throughout. Unclipped dust jacket is near fine with a hint of general rubbing, mostly to the rear panel. This title was part of the "We Go" series, in which each title featured two young people circumnavigating the world.

Published during the uncertain days of World War Two, most of the verse in this little book had already been printed in a column "Postcripts " in Wellington's Evening Post newspaper. Many of the 100+ verses have a patroitic theme or refer to wartime incidents, actions, campaigns or the home-front. Campbell's poems were first published under his "Crowbar" nom de plume and "Crowbar" is written in ink above the signature "(J Finlay Campbell)" top left on the title page verso. Not dated but preface dated August 1943. 111 pages. Plain light, brown card covers VG with black front and spine titles, few small marks, internally VG+. By Author.
