Unclipped original dust wrapper is complete and displays beautifully in new mylar. No names, tears or soil. The Hebrides are the colorful setting of this thrilling adventure story for boys and girls. The hero, 14 year old John MacInnes, persuades a local farmer/landowner to trust him with the care of his sheep in their summer quarters on Goat Island. Once this is settled and he has the use of a boat, he organizes a camp so that his friends, three other boys and two girls, can help him in his scheme to fish lobster from the island. In the beginning, the possibility of finding a treasure of long lost gold, said to have been hidden there by pirates, was uppermost in their minds as a wish and a dream. It becomes a reality when they realize that men will murder for gold.
