Etat : Good-. When World War I, broke out Frischmann was in Berlin and was imprisoned as an enemy alien. He was set free and permitted to return to Poland. When the German army neared Warsaw, he left for Odessa, where he stayed until the Russian Revolution. After the 1917 Revolution, a Hebrew literary center developed in Moscow. Frischmann was invited to be the chairman of the editorial board of Stybel Publications. In 1919 Stybel was closed down in Moscow and re-formed in Warsaw, where Frischmann remained as editor.
