The firm advertised itself as being "Importers and Wholesale Dealers in Paints, Oils, French Window Glass, Brushes, Varnishes, Turpentine, Glue, Gold Leaf, Artists' Materials, etc.". Etat : Sehr gut. Umschlag berieben. Papierbedingt leicht gebräunt. - A comprehensive examination of the post-hospital experience of former mental patients, this book reports the results of a follow-up study of 649 mental patients during the year after hospitalization. Based on data gathered in lengthy interviews with patients' family members, the book documents the success and failure of patients in remaining in the community, and their levels of work and social performance subsequent to hospitalization. The relationship between the stages of rehabilitation of former mental patients and characteristics of the patients' families and family settings are described. In addition to these characteristics, data about the treatment experiences of patients, during and after hospitalization, are discussed in relation to their post-hospital rehabilitation. The authors draw upon current concepts in social psychiatry and sociology to explore the implications of their findings for understanding deviant behavior and for development of treatment programs.
