Traces 22 fatal accidents in the High Alps (almost exclusively during nineteenth century) covering famous guides and climbers, famous mountains, and the often mysterious conditions & particularly tragic circumstances surrounding them. This sad chronicle, carefully researched, is softened by the dedication of the rescue parties and the affection of the climbers for their guides. Ours is an ex-library copy with usual stickers, stamps, pocket etc. Boards show wear to all edges. Book in GOOD condition.
