Etat : Good. colour printed map; overall 55 x 83 cm. folds as issued; 2 repaired tears in lower part of map; some slight discolouration; hand written annotations on front cover; o/w g cond. A very attractive and rare pictorial map of Cyprus, published for KEO, a Cypriotic brewery and winery. The map is surrounded by a decorative border with animals, people and important sites. Within the map, there are sketches of important monuments, churches and fortifications as well as symbols for agriculture, viticulture and petrol pumps. In the top centre, are the coat-of-arms of KEO: a red shield with green grapes and leaves, surrounded by green foliage and the motto: XAIPE KAI NIEI EY Be Happy and Drink Well . The map was designed by Rosemary Grimble who trained at the Central School of Arts, London. She became art editor of Housewife and then assistant art director of Picture Post . Between 1948 and 1956, she lived in Italy, Malta, Southern France, London and Cyprus and continued to work as a book illustrator and writer.
