Loose portfolio. Prints are all in Fine condition and all the glassine folders are present. The glassine folders show some negligible wear, very minor and each displays a poem that accompanies the artist's artwork; quite lovely and clearly a labor of love for the publisher to include these. Slip case condition appears to be sturdy, with some tape at the corners and some scuffing on the back. Size: Double Elephant - over 25" - 50" tall. A striking portfolio of prints by 6 leading illustrators: Maurice Sendak, Chris Van Allsburg, Barry Moser, Seymour Chwast, Daniel Palavin and Guy Billout. Includes 6 serigraph prints, printed in up to 25 colors, each in the original glassine folder with printed label; single sheet of letterpress descriptive text. (Folio) 27x20¾, loose, as issued, in the original cloth backed box. Number 70 of 300 copies.Each print signed by the artist in pencil at lower right. In almost Fine condition with some light wear to box; light wrinkle at print corners (but well away from images); prints overall fine. The most ambitious project from fine art publishers Serigrafia, 100 copies were retained for the use of the illustrators, 100 for Serigrafia, and 100 were donated to raise funds for The Children's Health Fund at an initial offering price of $5000. A set of six illustrations crafted and signed by six different artists: Barry Moser, Maurice Sendak of Where the Wild Things Are, Chris Van Allsburg of The Polar Express, Seymour Chwast, Daniel Pelavin, and Guy Billout. The range of style imbues the familiar Mother Goose rhymes with wonder and whimsy. Each print housed in transluscent paper folio, and all preceded by introductory sheet. All fine, housed in dropback box of purple and blue.
