Etat : Fair. 1930. New Edition. 343 pages. No dust jacket. Patterned paper covered boards with green cloth to spine. Black and white illustrations throughout. Slight cracking to hinges and gutters causing boards and binding to be loose. However, boards and pages throughout remain attached. Heavier to endpapers and pastedowns. Previous owner's inscriptions to front free endpaper. Water staining to some pages, text remains readable. Boards have heavy shelf-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Wear marks overall.

First published in 1912, this is a revised edition that comes with 16 woodcuts by Clare Leighton and a foreword by the author. Original green cloth, gilt titles to spine. Unclipped dust-wrapper. VG+ [slight rubbing to the edges of the book itself) in a Good+ wrapper that is showing some discolouration, darkening to the spine, and shallow chipping to the edges, spine-ends and corners. Internally excellent; some spotting to the endpapers and outer page-edges. An attractive example.

It is number 62 of 325 copies signed and numbered of which the first 299 were for sale. This book is in absolutely wonderful condition EXCEPT the front lower board was bent upward at one time and shows a wrinkle to the outside board and a paper split across the inside. 333 pp. There is a decorative bookplate on the inside pastedown stating STAR LIBRARY. Besides the unfortunate wrinkle/paper split the book is complete, clean, and tight (all else fine). Might be a candidate for a nice rebinding. By Author and Designer.
